Academics

ELA instruction helps young learners build early literacy through phonics, vocabulary, and storytelling. Students practice listening, speaking, reading, and writing in ways that are engaging, playful, and developmentally appropriate.

Math lessons focus on number sense, pattern recognition, and basic operations through hands-on games and visual tools. Activities are designed to help students make connections between numbers and the world around them.

Students learn to observe, question, and explore their environment through age-appropriate science lessons. Early STEM learning builds curiosity and introduces basic scientific thinking and discovery.

Through stories, celebrations, and classroom experiences, students begin to learn about families, communities, and cultures. Instruction supports empathy, understanding, and respect for others.

Creative exploration is central to early learning. Students engage in visual arts and music to build fine motor skills, self-expression, and cultural appreciation.

Students are introduced to Arabic and Spanish through songs, stories, and simple conversational practice. These early language experiences help build listening skills and foster global awareness.

Students participate in a variety of learning activities each day that individualize instruction for each subject area. Students receive whole class instruction, small group instruction, and individual instruction with teachers, technology and other curricular tools.

Our teachers meet the educator qualification requirements outlined in the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA): Bachelor’s degree, grade-level teaching license/certificate & ability to demonstrate subject area expertise. Our teachers are supported by trainers and participate in continuous, research-based professional development. Our teachers are accountable for student learning and rewarded for high quality performance.

Our students receive double the instruction in ELA and Math to provide a strong foundation for all learning. Beginning with full-day Kindergarten, our school also follows a longer school day and school year than many other schools.

Student knowledge of academic standards is assessed formally and informally in short cycles by each teacher. Our teachers adjust class-level and individual instruction based on student performance in these frequent intervals.
